Righted Wrongs Empty
PostSubject: Righted Wrongs   Righted Wrongs EmptyTue 29 Oct 2013, 23:00

Zas leaves the meeting with the others abruptly. His mind is set in stone, and his heart even more so-that being an official pack is the right decision. Though the others may not see it yet, hopefully this time away will allow them to think clearly. The decision to pick an alpha so quickly may indeed have been rushed, however Zas knew for certain that running around in a loose coalition of Garou without any one being held accountable for their actions was reckless at best.

All that aside, he knew that he personally had things he needed to atone for. Thus, here he was searching for the leader of the Spinning Wheels pack, Sept Alpha of El Camino Real, and a philodox no less. He felt that he needed to get something off his chest concerning her, and aimed to do so.

In the course of the Moot ending and Zas escorting Chief Bowl away, the other Garou who'd been in attendance had dispersed. Tracking Red Oath was made all the more difficult as there were many foot prints scattered about where she'd been standing. When Zas failed to locate her by footprints, he moved on to using his other senses. He tried listening for her voice, but there were too many other sounds around him from other conversation going on, and even the woods seemed to be alive with discussion, which again prevented him from locating her. Last but certainly not least he traced her scent. This he was able to find, as it was fairly dominant. He followed it until he found her in a discussion of her own with Lune-Stalker. She had just seemed to have finished speaking to or at least given up trying to get Lune-Stalker to focus as Lune-Stalker had once again looked up at Luna and seemed to have lost contact with this plane of reality. Red Oath sighed in frustration and rubbed her head in an exasperated gesture looking first at the ground and then in Zas's direction as he approached.

Zas walked up to within a few feet of Red Oath and says, "Is now a bad time to speak with you about something?"

The sept alpha ran her hands up through her dark hair, sweeping it back and out of the way. "What can I do for you, Zas B'ul?" She smelled like fresh wet earth and old leather.

Lune-Stalker stood close by, her face still turned up toward Luna. However as Zas began to speak he noticed that her wild unblinking eyes shifted away from the moon to lock onto him.

Zas approached slightly closer as he began, "I have come here for two reasons. One is atonement, the other is guidance."

He studies Red Oath as he speaks noting any physical changes in her outward appearance as he continues. His tone is intense, but respectful. He looks Red Oath in the eyes as he says, "I am here before you to ask for your rendering of judgement on me. I fear that I not only overstepped my bounds, but I also was incorrect in my charges. I speak to you of my earlier claims of you potentially violating the Litany by "abandoning" this Caern. I have seen enough now to realize my accusation was false and inaccurate. This matter is worsened by the fact that I have discussed my observations with those under you. Not in attempts to reject your authority, but to rather verify my claims. I do not wish to continue to cause such subversive acts to your authority, and have thus brought this matter before you personally. I chose not to bring this up during the moot as I wished to first have this matter resolved with you and to allow you to decide its outcome."

Zas then sighs as he goes on, "I feel that I was out of order to also call you out on this further due to the difference in our ranks. Your decisions were and are in tune with the Litany as I see it. I ask only that you consider that my actions have thus far only been to ensure the Litany was being followed; I had no intentions of challenging your leadership or other such motives; when determining my sentence."

"Decide the outcome? You can lighten up a bit, Zas B'ul. I'm not going to punish you." The more experienced Philodox shook her head. "This sept wasn't built on iron-clad rules and draconian punishments. However, in the future, I expect you to be a little more judicious when leveling charges. To be a judge of the Garou is to choose your battles and your words very carefully. While the Ahroun bays for blood and the Ragabash mocks foes and allies alike, we Philodox have to swallow our rage and guide our brothers and sisters through example; and that is never easy."

"In the future, if you have a problem with my leadership, feel free to call me out on it, to my face. Or better yet, challenge me." Red-Oath laughed, but her smile was framed by the jagged scar on her chin, her eyes glinting fiercely in the moonlight.

Lune-Stalker shook out her shoulders and laughed. "The fly escaped, Red-Oath, flew all the way back to town. I don't think we need to chase after flies, though... he's stuck in the web and doesn't even know it." Her head snapped down from the heavens and she turned to look at Zas B'ul, her wild-eyed grin screened by her unruly long blond hair.

Zas looks at Lune Stalker for awhile trying to figure out what she had just said and make sense of it, but he eventually gives up and decides that she was simply speaking to Red Oath and it was for her to figure out.

Zas then looks back to Red Oath and says, "Very well. Your decision is merciful. I will abide by your ruling. I will also be more wary before making such claims from here on."

He then looks down briefly at the ground as he recalled a promise he'd made, his jet black hair falling forwards to cover his chest. He utters a simple prayer to Luna, "Luna, please shed your bright, soft, gentle, and guiding light to each of us, but all the more to Hears the Song as she seeks your infinite wisdom."

He then looks back to Red Oath and says, "As to my second purpose-guidance, I seek your discernment on two matters. You directed Hears the Song to go with the three of us newcomers to your caern and discover Sterns problem. She has now done this. It has been suggested by her that the four of us form an official pack. I am not asking for whether or not you think we should be a pack. What I am asking is what guidance or wisdom about forming a pack you can offer to a fellow philodox? I have never been apart of a pack before. Should the outcome be that we decide to form a pack, what can I do to be the most helpful? What should I avoid?"

Zas takes a breath, looks to Lune Stalker, curious as to what thoughts she had and says, "This question I also ask you."

He then continues, looking back at Red Oath as he says, "I intend to assist Chief Bowl with his internal issues provided he allows me to. That said, I wish to know your thoughts on him as both a Garou and a Chief. From what interaction you've had, is he an honest man?"

Red-Oath's smile faded into a faraway and wistful look as she studied Zas. "I'm not surprised that Hears-the-Song would make such a suggestion. But I would ask you to consider your options carefully. First off, why are you forming a pack at all? You said you don't want my advice on whether you should or not, but maybe you should ask yourself and your would-be pack mates that. What is it about these other Garou that makes you want to join up with them indefinitely? If you did, what would your purpose be? And don't give me 'fight the Wyrm' business, we all do that. If you have a plan or vision for what you want to accomplish as a pack, go for it. If not, I'd leave it alone until you did."

The mad-eyed theurge stood almost completely still, only the slight rise and fall of her chest marking her as anything other than a moonlit statue. After a moment Red continued: "As for Bowls-Over-the-Great-Foe," Red made sure to emphasize each syllable, "he might have lost the wolf but he is still Uktena through and through. With the destruction of his sept, his role as Garou elder is only a shadow of its former self; now he acts almost solely as a leader of men."

Lune-Stalker "The followers of the Horned Serpent keep many secrets, and I suspect he knows more about the darkness than we realize. Maybe even too much. As I have said before, his willingness to skirt the edge of truth makes him unpredictable." The Child of Gaia giggled. "But then, the nature of the hearts of Garou are not my specialty."

Red-Oath shot a glance at Lune-Stalker and furrowed her brow as she spoke, choosing her words carefully: "I do not share your misgivings, Lune. I don't doubt Bowl is bitter towards us 'wyrmcomers' or whatever the hell they call us, but he has shown willingness and the capacity to aid us in fighting the Wyrm. I think it speaks to his character that despite his age and frailty, and what happened to his tribe and kinfolk, he will still fight to defend Gaia."

"He is willing, yes, but I find his mind clouded by loss, bitterness, and... fear. Perhaps circumventing the meddling ancient will yet save us grief of our own." Lune-Stalker had stopped grinning, and her strange, almost luminous eyes had narrowed into slits. The two leaders looked at each other, the tension between them palpable.

Zas tilts his head at an angle as Red Oath speaks. He considers what she says if being a pack and having reasons and nods once firmly.

Zas then turns to Lune Stalker and says while bowing, "Your response has reminded me of my calling. Thank you."

He pauses before going on, "Lune Stalker, I ask you this. Do all spirits speak to you clearly? Is their guidance and wisdom absolute, or can their instructions and ways be challenging to understand? The reason I ask you this, is due to the fact that I have never heard the spirits speak to me. However, I do know that Chief Bowl is uktena, which means to me and all who are not uktena that their ways and reasoning may be difficult to see. They are an old tribe if what my father has said is true, and Chief Bowl even more so. There is much wisdom to be gained from elder Garou thus I have come before you."
He sighs, "I see that you are more familiar with spirits, and are more comfortable and more likely to trust a spirit. Would you agree though that as Chief Bowls mind may be clouded with fear, your judgement is not also clouded by fear of trusting him instead of a spirit?"

Zas turns back to Red Oath and says, "I am pleased that you feel the way you do about Chief Bowl. Though, you have mentioned that something happened to his sept...what was it? I have not heard of this tale."
