Hidden Judgment Empty

Zas approached Kefka after the packs conversation with Roaring Jack as he began to make his way to the fighting pits. The philodox looks inquisitively at the ragabash as he says, "Well that certainly was unexpected. I didn't know you had orders to take out other garou. I have as you can probably imagine I have some questions and concerns...namely-What crime against the litany is so grievous that it requires total destruction of all Shadow lords or does this judgment only apply to the ones in the Houston caern? More importantly, I suppose I need to ask why this Judge of Doom recruited you. You are not a philodox: why did he lay such a task upon you?"

He pauses, "But perhaps the first question I would ask is why have you not said anything about this until now? I thought you wanted to meet others of your tribe, not kill them. What changed?"

Kefka nods as Zas begins to spout questions. Kefka shoves his arms into his pockets and shrugs before leaning against a tree. He sighs before speaking.

"Now just to be clear, I won't be killin' anyone that don't need to be killed. The Shadowlords need cleansed, that is different than destroyed. If I can get them to follow Gaia as they once did without violence, you best bet that course is the one I will be takin'. Most Shadowlords in Texas are gathered in Houston so that is where it applies. I was recruited by Drowns His Foes because well...I suppose I owe him one. He saved me and taught me everything I knew after I first changed. Also... as you can tell Shadowlords like dealing strictly with other Shadowlords. We take care of our own business. I may be his only ally here, and by extension you guys since we're in a pack together."

He takes his hat off and runs a hand through his hair as he sighs again. He places his hat back upon his head as he grabs his flask and takes a swig before offering some to Zas.

"I didn't want to tell y'all like this, but I had to let Roaring Jack know. If he sent another pack to the Houston area to cleanse the caern and determine if they are following Gaia's best interests...then my tribe's business would be everywhere and Drowns His Foes possibly would be in danger. I made to make sure it would be us there taking care of the White Ash sept. You know I haven't had much interaction with my tribe beyond Drowns His Foes, and those interactions have been few. I feel Drowns His Foes is to be trusted though, and I aim to help him. Just know these Shadowlords here are not to be trusted. Back in the old world there was a traitorous self destructive cult known as Masks. They have been dealt with and it is doubtful any true Masks are actually here...but many here have been led astray, and fallen into discord, and disgrace because of these Masks. These Masks killed my mother...and if I am correct in my thinking I killed one of them the night of my change. It is my destiny to gain the blessing of Grandfather and reclaim the Shadowlord's honor, by bringing judgment to the White Ash sept. If they will not turn from their ways and follow Gaia...they will be destroyed."

Zas goes quiet as Kefka explains himself, his face unreadable and passive as he listens attentively. When the pack Ragabash finished Zas remains silent as he closes his eyes reflecting upon the news.

When at last he speaks his voice is soft-not in volume but in tenderness as he says, "You were gifted this information by Drowns his foes. I understand your desire to repay your debt to him, but why does he not do as he is called, and render judgement unto those who need it? Is it simply because he knows of your destiny or is there something he has to lose by not doing this himself?

You claim it to be your destiny to bring judgement and to reclaim honor...does your destiny say you will do this alone?"

Kefka smiled.

"I ain't too keen on doin' this alone. If that is what calls for, or if I have to I will...But Gaia brought us together as a pack to use that, and I would rather have our combined strengths than only mine own. As to Drowns His Foes...don't worry about him. He is trackin' down someone away from Houston to render judgement. I expect he will meet us there or give us more information one way or another. "

The silent strider nods once as he says, "My goal in uniting the tribes faces opposition. Going unto the varied tribes and calling upon them to face the true enemy is how I seek to do this-for were I to go to them with ultimatums or threats...they would not respond well."

He looks intently as he says, "I tell you this because calling down judgement upon others is something that you need to be completely certain on. Giving your ultimatum of abandoning their crooked path and returning to serving Gaia or face death-however righteous your calling may be, will not be something you can cast aside once you are done. You may be at peace about this already, and if so-good, but if not, I ask you to carefully consider what I'm saying.

Once you lay down your words, you are bound to them. This role-of calling out punishment, it changes you. I have no doubt that you could do it, but I do question if you are prepared to accept who you will become, what it makes you. Do you understand?"
