As the pack made their way to Austin Mocks took up the rear. Partly to keep watch, and partly to be alone with his thoughts. His thoughts focused on Omega who bestowed upon him not one, but two new names
"Storm-born...Harbinger? Always more names, never any answers. Did I choose such a poor name for myself that other's can't use it." Mocks the Night spat to the ground and inhaled deeply through his nose as he kept walking. "Child of the Woodsman...Far Flung Moon...Dark Moon of Ancient Prophecy. Scion of the Shadow Lords. Heir of Wood and man. Empty Sky of Noble Blood. Scorned Son of Doom and Thunder." He sighed as he reached for his flask and brought it to his lips. An audible curse escaped his lips as he recalled finishing the last of it before touching the despair engine. He sighed as he recalled his time in harano. he spoke in a low voice "I just want to be Mocks the Night dammit. Beta of the Prodigals. Is that too much to ask for?" He didn't even know where to find answers. Drowns His Foes appeared once after the birth of Jasnah but left soon after, though with name like Drowns His Foes warmth, support, and comfort should not be expected. Kefka thought about his conversation with Tames the Weaver and the White Ash Sept. Could there really be Shadow Lords there? Ones to interact with face to face? To talk, to spar, to drink with. Rends has Roaring Jack and the other Get, Zoey has all the Iron Riders she could want in Nacogdoches, Eaton has the Mcleod and other Gnawers...Hell even Zas has people. They may not be Silent Striders but he had made friends with the Pure. All Mocks had were some voices in his head. The depression may have left, but the thoughts remained to haunt him. He shook his head and pulled his coat close around him. He shoved his hands into his pockets and picked up the pace to catch up with Rends and Silke. He tipped his hat towards Silke and gave toothy grin before matching pace next to Rends and looking at him with a more serious face.
"I don't mean to intrude on y'all. I know ya probably want some time alone, so I'll say my peace and be gone faster than Zas running from a horse." He gave a slight chuckle before continuing. "I let you down back there with Tames the Weaver...that machine got in my head and I weren't much help. As your Beta I need to be better than that. You handled yourself well back there though. Lesser Garou might have lost their minds to their rage, but you held fast, vanquished your father, and achieved your prize. I am mighty proud to have you as Alpha and to be under your lead."
Mocks stopped walking and took a drink from Rend's flask that he had pilfered when Rends wasn't paying attention. "Also I was running on empty." He gave a wink as he tossed the flask back to Rends.
